Insecurity In Southeast: Peter Obi Backs Uzodimma Led Southeast Governors Summit

The former governor of Anambra State and presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the just concluded 2023 General Elections, His Excellency Peter Obi, on Friday called for support for Southeast governors as they continue to fight insecurity in the area. 


Peter Obi made the clarion called for support for the Southeast governors while speaking during the Southeast Economic and Security Summit holding in Owerri. 


He joined the summit online because he is out of the country and could not return home to join the summit physically. 


He said: "Our mainstay as a people is business. Businesses will not thrive in the midst of insecurity. We must support our governors and other stakeholders as we all seek solutions to solve this problem that is affecting our region."


The Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, who is the leader of the South East governors, is leading the charge to tackle insecurity in the subregion, as well as revive the battered economy brought about by the spate of insecurity in the region in recent times.
