The campaign council of the National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP and governorship candidate of the party in Imo State, Senator Samuel Anyanwu have reacted to alleged threat by the Imo State government to impound vehicles of Imo bus drivers.
This was contained in a press statement signed by Ikenna ONUOHA the Director, Media and Publicity of the Imo PDP Gubernatorial Campaign Council and reads as follows:
The Imo PDP Gubernatorial Campaign Council receives with concern the reported threat to impound vehicles of Imo bus Drivers by Hope Uzodinma and his APC agents who refuse to paste their stickers on their buses any moment from now. Such threat no matter what, will not save Uzodinma from surprise defeat with wide margin in the November election.
It is regrettable that instead of Hope Uzodinma and his appointees to begin to mend fences having inflicted on the state with economic pandemic and social unrest, they are busy scheming to retain power through the back door.
The government threat to deal decisively with Imo bus Drivers is provocative, insulting and embarrassing. If a government of APC in the state under Hope Uzodinma is working to cause another grievous harm on Imo populace in a time like this where there is excruciating hunger, starvation and anguish shows that such government lacks human feelings, tolerance and should be booted out without apology.
While the people of the state are faced with challenges following the removal of fuel subsidy, Uzodinma's government is using every avenues to continue to frustrate the citizens when his administration has refused to account for the N5 billion palliatives as well as other food items received from the Federal Government.
The Imo PDP Governorship Campaign Council views Uzodinma's action as not only wicked and inhuman, but a designed plot to force Imo people to go against their decisions in the November election. Such desperation to retain power at all cost after Imo people had rejected him will never redeem his battered image.
The Campaign Council therefore sympathizes with Imo bus Drivers and other similar unions that have suffered undue molestation, harassment and intimidation in the hands of the present APC administration in the state, and urged then to join hands with PDP to secure the state from the grip of insecurity, corruption, greed and abuse of human rights.
Imo Shall Be Safe Again!
