National Vice Chairman, Southeast, Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Chief Engr. Teddy IK Obey has called on Ndigbo to join the party for political stabilization and equity, expressing optimism that the party would give the zone the needed leadership it has clamoured for.
Chief Teddy Obey made this call Wednesday while briefing Journalists in Owerri, the Imo State capital. He said that since the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) has failed to render dividends of democracy to the people, NDC remains a viable alternative to bring economic development, quality education, social amenities and security to the nation if voted into power.
According to him, "anyone still expecting that APC will do magic to redeem its already battered image is wasting his or her time. The worst APC can do and gradually working towards doing it is to continue to selfishly sustain the hunger in the country as the only way to compel Nigerians to vote for them. Let me assure you that such antics of APC will never work again because a new Sheriff, the NDC is already in town"
The National Vice Chairman further urged Ndigbo to leverage on the ongoing party registration exercise to join NDC to be able to join hands with them to sack the APC and its leaders from power in 2027, adding that the party and its pioneers were ready to show the Tinubu led government the way out.
He maintained that NDC remains a credible alternative that is prepared to win the 2027 Presidential election in Nigeria, five Governorships seats in the Southeast and further secure maximum base in the national and state Assembly elections.
Chief Teddy Obey therefore opined that NDC door remains widely open to accommodate every individual that is willing to join hands with NDC to change the old political narrative in the country.
