A frontline Youth organization in Imo State, "Ihedioha Youth Movement (IYM)" has told the Imo State governor, Hope Uzodinma that his days as the Number One citizen of the state are numbered, having failed to protect Imo people from undue humiliation.

The group further vowed to work for the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu and his Deputy, Hon Jones Onyereri in the November Governorship election.

The group stated this weekend when it visited the PDP Governorship candidate, Senator Anyanwu at the campaign office, along Okigwe road, Owerri.

Speaking on behalf of his members, Convener of the group, Hon Nwosu Kelechi said that it would amount to anti-party activity if any member of the group vote against the party's Governorship standard bearer.

According to him, since all members of the group who worked for the emergence of Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha as Governor of the state in the 2019 election have come together for another task ahead, the former name has changed to Sam-Jones Youth Movement (SJYM) to be able to realize the objective.

He assured that his members would deploy a similar 2019 spirit and strength they discharged during the Governorship election, expressing optimism that PDP would record victory in the forth coming election having shown Imo people that it is prepared to confront the exercise

"In 2019, we participated actively in the Governorship election and at the end, we won overwhelmingly. Today, we are set and ever ready to replicate the same strength and commitment we exhibited in that election in this November 11 Governorship election"

Hon Nwosu disclosed that their members are scattered in the 27 LGAs, the 10 Federal Constituencies and the 3 zones of the state, noting that his group is gingered by the overwhelming supports the "Make Imo Safe Again" team is gathering across the state and resolved to be part of the success story of victory in the November poll.

Addressing the group, the PDP Governorship candidate, Senator Anyanwu commended them for being good party members and supporters, and charged them to work assiduously towards delivering victory to PDP.

Anyanwu said that he joined the Governorship raise to liberate the state after seeing what Imo people are going through under APC, adding that the November election would mark the end to every form of maladministration and bad leadership.

He said, "Looking at you alone shows young men with the strength to change the narrative. What is happening in our state today is not what anyone expected. There is uncontrollable flow of blood in the state, there is division and there is disunity amongst every group. This is because the APC administration has injected poverty, panic and insecurity. It is our collective dreams to resolve this anomaly. Imo state experienced peace, unity and good economy under PDP. Our mandate is to secure Imo state and make it safe again"

While urging them to continue to promote the campaign council now that they are integral part of the project, Anyanwu therefore assured them PDP administration will bring back the lost glory of the state after the election.

Meanwhile, on ground to receive the group with Senator Anyanwu include, his Deputy, Rt Hon Jones Onyereri, Evang Mike Ikoku, Secretary of the campaign council, Prince Marshall Okafor Anyanwu, Hon Henry Onwukwe, Chief Ben Duru, Hon Chidi Agbasi, Dr Emeka Onyema and Amb Chuks Ajaelu, among others.
