Rejoinder: Opposition Against Uzodimma Thickens

Honestly, I laughed to high heavens when I read the publication in the Friday August 11, 2023 Edition of TRUMPETA Newspaper,  with the above caption on the front page, and the main story on page 2.

And truly, it does not require any response. Nevertheless, as we say in  Igbo language : Anaghi Eji Ihe Anagba N'Nti, Agba N'Anya,  especially, as Governorship Election is coming up in November 2023,  just three months away, and to ensure gullible people are not deceived, this rejoinder has become very necessary.

A certain man parading as a Human Rights lawyer, Barrister Ray Onyeugo, claimed, as was published in the said Newspaper, to have inaugurated "Market to Market Coordinators" who would educate the electorates to vote out the ruling Party, All Progressives Congress, APC and His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodimma in the November 11, 2023, Governorship election.

According to the report,  Ray Onyeugo informed his "inaugurated coordinators" that he is against the re-election of Governor Hope Uzodimma due to the following......

1. High level of insecurity and killings in the State.

2. Decay of Infrastructure.

3. Impunity in Governance

4. Lack of Trust and Faith in the Government.

The Man went further to challenge the State Government to show any quality project in the State, particularly, in Ngor-Okpala local government area, that will justify another term of Office for Governor Hope Uzodimma.

Clearly,  Ray Onyeugo is being sponsored to lay unfounded allegations and falsehood  against the State Government,  but our response will surely put him where he rightly belongs...... Dustbin

Insecurity has become a global phenomenon. It is neither peculiar to Nigeria, nor to Imo State. Nevertheless, the State Government is doing its best, in collaboration with the security agencies,  in fighting this challenge. However, we all know that perpetrators of insecurity and their sponsors are criminal elements, who having lost Political Power on all fronts, are sponsoring  and  using insecurity to destabilize the system, and then turn around to blame government. But with the cooperation of security agencies and patriotic citizens, Imo State Government has done wonderfully well in  dealing with the situation. People go about their businesses without fear of being molested, harassed or ambushed by criminals.  But the likes of Ray Onyeugo and  his sponsors  are  fighting Government for doing its best to secure the State, properties and Imo citizens.

Two weeks ago, a notorious kidnapper was arrested by the police along Bishop's Court by Aladinma Hospital Road Owerri.  Upon serious interrogation, he named three members of his kidnap gang   to be traders at Alaba market owerri. Conversely,  now that Ray Onyeugo has inaugurated  "Market to Market Coordinators"  to oppose the good works of the State Government, there is need to investigate him,  and invite the so-called  inaugurated coordinators for questioning.  He might have set up a criminal gang, but using politics as a smokescreen to cover his criminal activities.

Nevertheless, it should be noted that the so-called  "Market to Market Coordinators" are traders operating from markets built, reconstructed and remodelled by the 3-R Government led by His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodimma. Is this not the  height of ingratitude, wickedness, betrayal and disloyalty for the  supposed traders to agree to become Market Coordinators  for a Man (Ray Onyeugo) who is obviously a front for  the opposition Governorship candidates and elements in the State?  Let us note the following......

1. Ekeukwu Owerri market was demolished by a past administration in 2017,  and  even against court order,  but Governor Hope Uzodimma came and rebuilt and remodelled it.

2. Relief Market  Owerri was abandoned to decay by previous administrations, but Governor Hope Uzodimma came and rehabilitated and expanded it.

3. Orji Market was allowed to decay by previous administrations, but Governor Hope Uzodimma came and rebuilt it.

4. Major markets across the State were demolished, and or allowed to decay by previous administrations. But Hope Uzodimma came and rebuilt all of them.

Genuine  traders  are  grateful to Governor Hope Uzodimma for restoring and bringing  back their  markets ;  whereas criminal elements and kidnappers  pretending to be traders have  aligned  with Ray Onyeugo as Market Coordinators  to oppose the good works of the State Government and re-election of Governor Hope Uzodimma.

Impunity in Governance,  lack of Trust and Faith in Government can only take  place when there is no Quality Service Delivery. The three Arms of Government in Imo State are working harmoniously, effectively,  efficiently and in unison for the progress  of the State. There has not been any reported criminal matter  or financial crime against  any Government official in the State, unlike what was obtainable in previous administrations. The 3-R  Government has consistently embarked on  and executed solid projects since the last 43 months, and there has never been any report  on failed or collapsed project  anywhere in the state.  All projects executed by the 3-R Government are standing the test of time.  This can be verified.

Due to the quality of infrastructure built and constructed by the Hope Uzodimma led Administration,  including  making the Civil Service environment friendly,  by renovating, furnishing and equipping the State Secretariat complex (Ditto ;  the Imo State House Of Assembly complex),  Imo people have come to *Trust* and have more *Faith* and *Confidence* in the 3-R Government.  Therefore,  the allegation of 'Impunity in Governance "  by Ray Onyeugo might be coming from his frustrated and disillusioned mind. Obviously,  Ray Onyeugo is lost, discombobulated, confused and completely disconnected from the realities on  the  developmental strides of the vision driven leadership of His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodimma.

No wonder, in his aggravated mental delusion, Ray Onyeugo challenged the State Government to show any quality project in the state, particularly, in Ngor-Okpala local government area.

Having accepted the challenge,  let me therefore  roll out a chronicle of  Governor Hope Uzodimma's verifiable quality  road  projects and revolution  in Imo State ( Local Government By Local Government), generally,  and in Ngor-Okpala local government area, in particular.

In the coming days, I will visit Market leaders and Traders Association across the State,  to  inform, interact  and educate them on the need to reelect His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodinma come November 11, 2023.

Hope Uzodinma : Ahiaona N'Ere Onwe Ya.

Uzo  Di Mma :  Agaaa   Ya Ugboro Abuo.

I Rest My Pen.
